Joan Kramer is a 20-year Rotarian and Past President of the South Callaway Rotary Club, Jefferson City Breakfast Rotary Club and Jefferson City Evening Rotary Club.  She is currently serving as District Governor Elect for Rotary International, District 6080 in Missouri. She has served District 6080 as District Trainer, Membership Committee and Visioning Committee.

Joan was recipient of Rotarian of the Year in 2007 from the Jefferson City Breakfast Rotary Club.  Joan also served as a host parent in 2011, 2015 and 2020 to Rotary Youth Exchange students from Ecuador, Brazil and Switzerland.

Joan’s personal tagline in Rotary is, “Every Day is a New Day.”  Meaning, everyday is a new day to choose to serve, love, reach out, help, give praise, be optimistic and show others gratitude for what they do in Rotary no matter how big or how small.  Her passions in Rotary are Rotary Youth Exchange, encouraging others to be hopeful, helping people feel valued in Rotary, inspiring others, doing good, Polio Plus, Membership Attraction and Engagement, Youth, Community and Economic Development (projects that service our communities and the world,) and Visioning. She supports the Rotary Foundation as a member of the Paul Harris Society and a donor to the Rotary Foundation.

Professionally, Joan is a Production Control Manager and Human Resources Manager for Porite Jefferson Corporation in Jefferson City, MO.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s in Business Management.  She was nominated as Zonta’s Women of Achievement in 2012 in Jefferson City, serves as an Associate of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, is a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City and past Commissioner for the Jefferson City Historic Preservation Commission.

Joan grew up in Jefferson City, MO, is the mother to three boys, has three grandchildren, one Yellow Labrador Retriever and two cute bunny rabbits.  Her interests besides Rotary and the School Sisters of Notre Dame include, exercising, golfing (some,) listening to music, growing and tending to my plants, spending time with friends and researching historic homes and buildings in mid-Missouri.
